Project details
Introduction/Overview:
The Solve:
After reviewing the material properties based on the latest exploration results and expected Life of Mine (LoM), CEMS Consult presented alternative solutions to our client for treating these challenging ores. In 2023, CEMS Consult was appointed for the Detail Engineering, Procurement, and Commission-ing Assistance (EPCA) of the new Crushing Plant. The detail design process included Bulk Solids Shear Testing of ore samples to ensure a Fit-for-Purpose design and equipment selection, as well as the use of Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) to define transfer and hopper arrangements.
The Crushing Plant project involved extending the existing ROM Pad, constructing a new ROM Wall, Primary Crusher, and Conveyor Network, with special attention to minimising Operational Downtime and integrating with the existing plant during construction. CEMS Consult oversaw procurement, manufacturing, and expe-diting of all supplies.
Conclusion:
The implementation of the new Crushing Plant brings a range of benefits, including an increased ROM Pad, Optimised Blend Control and feed blend to the Mill, reduced material rehandling costs, increased capacity, and improved plant availability.
